Fruit trees: Serious play with Riviera team

Last week, Zeynep and Erika facilitated a playful half-day event for Helsinki-based independent cinema Riviera, as part of their wellbeing day. We employed techniques inspired by authentic relating and improvisational theatre to create an enjoyable and fun experience. This helped team members enhance their sense of connection and team spirit.

When people feel seen and heard in meaningful ways, it visibly transforms their culture towards a more caring and regenerative direction - which is crucial for our systems change agenda. We believe that shifting organisational culture towards a regenerative spirit is one of the most profound interventions we can support to facilitate sustainability transformations.

New shoots: New approaches for imagining the decolonisation of aid with Fingo

We recently ran a series of workshops with Fingo (Finnish Development NGOs’ umbrella organisation), where we brought our Transition Design and Collective Imagination to Fingo’s international development context - with specific attention to the "Decolonisation of Aid".

The workshops touched on important and complex topics, which required care and an awareness of privilege, power dynamics, and historical harms. We are committed to continuous learning, listening and evolution, and so would love to hear your thoughts on the approaches mentioned in the blog below, or any resources and learning opportunities you might know of.

Sunshine: A dose of energy, uplift and hope

Each newsletter we want to share something that has given our community some sunshine in the past month - nurturing our hopefulness and balancing the doom and gloom of the world.

This month we created our very own sunshine with our Spring/Summer gathering. Between a refreshing baltic swim, a co-created dinner, reflections on our last year together, and some authentic relating (all hosted on the beautiful Karhusaari), we were reminded of the importance of appreciating and connecting with each other ☀️
