What is futures prototyping? Join us for a Future voyage! Our event includes hands-on experimentation and talks around future studies and futures prototyping approaches.

This event is for sustainability experts, designers and futurists - or aspiring ones. We are also welcoming the researchers and agents of the Puistokatu 4 community.

We partnered with TAKK, a minimalist, essentials-only beauty care brand, to explore four inspiring, sustainable future visions for the beauty industry—and to link these futures directly to present-day actions. By applying a Transition Design approach, we co-created a bold new narrative positioning TAKK as a catalyst for systemic change.

"The Futures We Create" is a collaborative project led by Andrea Gilly, Savannah Vize, and Sara D’Angelo, strengthening the public’s ability to be reflective, critical and hopeful about the future, via the support of creative and imagination practices. Funded by Taike, the project began in 2023 and continued until Autumn 2024.

We recently completed a project with Fingo where we applied Transition Design methods and tools to reimagine the international development sector and to hold discussions on emotionally charged topics. We were joined by participants from the Finnish NGO sector, East and West Africa, and artists.

This workshop, funded by the CIPC, looks to reimagining our relationships with forests through language by uncovering and creating new narratives and language to foster a deeper understanding of these invaluable ecosystems. The project hopes to spark tangible changes in our imagination, behaviours and attitudes towards nature, through collaboratively sharing stories and developing new words.

Join our pilot workshop to explore our new method on the power of language for sustainability. In this workshop, we will investigate previously unnamed collective entities and experiences, and playfully co-create new words to describe them. Our intention is to change the way we relate to nature, especially forests.

At this year’s Sustainability Research + Innovation / Sustainability Science Days conference, we tested a new workshop format in collaboration with Safer Climate Network. The workshop was designed to provide a shared space to explore hospicing of the dying systems related to sustainability issues, and the process of change required in many industries to move away from harmful practices.

We facilitated a playful half-day event for Helsinki-based independent cinema Riviera, as part of their wellbeing day. We employed techniques inspired by authentic relating and improvisational theatre to create an enjoyable and fun experience and help team members enhance their sense of connection and team spirit.

In mid-April 2023 we shared a transformative three days with an inspirational group of people at our first Embodied Transition Design retreat. As an openly experimental space, the intention was to reconned sustainability actors with each other and themselves.
